Immediately on the heels of the announcement of the appointment of Dr. Carol Lynn Folt as the 12th President of USC, both Chairman Caruso and President-Elect Dr. Folt visited and spent an hour with the Staff Assembly membership. In an unprecedented moment, these two leaders shared candid comments, sought to get to know all the individual members of the group, and took questions and comments from the membership.
Building on the work of Interim President Wanda Austin, there is much excitement at the ushering in of an era of communication and openness. A platform of respect for the importance of the ranks of staff and the need to incorporate their unique knowledge and perspective on the operations and daily flow of the university and its medical enterprise was recognized.
