The USC Staff Assembly Environment and Safety Committee is committed to taking a leadership role in promoting sustainable practices to lessen Staff Assembly’s environmental impact. There has been a growing amount of interest amongst our fellow USC colleagues inquiring on how they can incorporate sustainability and be environmentally responsible at USC. The USC Staff Assembly Environment and Safety Committee recently implemented a “Green Meetings and Events Initiative” within USC Staff Assembly. This initiative will allow for USC Staff Assembly members to ease into the opportunity to learn, engage and contribute in planning sustainable meetings and events. Some examples of implementing this initiative include eliminating bottled water, reduce paper use, have recycling bins available and encouraging guests to bring their own reusable mug/bottle. We are also encouraging our Staff Assembly members to carry on this initiative in their office environments. Show us your green meetings, events, and office practices by posting on social media with #uscgreenpledge!
You can commit to the USC Sustainability pledge by visiting green.usc.edu, and also take the 2028 Sustainability Plan survey, by taking the pledge your daily behavior changes can add up to a big environmental impact
