The TPRI Team COVID-19 Pandemic Research Center and Keck School of Medicine invite staff to participate in our university-wide study about COVID-19 at USC: the Trojan Pandemic Response Initiative (TPRI).
The study is led by Dr. Howard Hu, Department of Preventive Medicine Chair, and is funded by the USC Provost’s Office and the Keck Foundation. The main purpose at the TPRI is to learn about the use and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine among USC students, staff, and faculty. Specifically, they hope to learn…
● how do people decide whether or not to get the vaccine?
● how do people practice protective behaviors after getting the vaccine?
● how effective is the vaccine in preventing COVID-19?
● how quickly does immunity develop?
● how long does immunity last?
● how do these outcomes vary across demographic subgroups?
They are interested in your opinions, whether you decide to get the vaccine or not. If you decide to participate…
● All your personal info will be kept confidential and only be known to the investigators.
● You might be invited to complete additional online surveys, and/or to give blood, saliva, and urine samples. These additional parts of the study are optional.
● You will receive a $10 gift card and be entered to win a $100 e-gift card for completing the baseline survey and up to another $40 for completing 4 subsequent surveys ($10 per survey).
● If you are invited to and agree to give biospecimens (blood, saliva, and urine samples) at 6 different time points over 9-12 months, you will receive an additional $20 per biospecimen appointment (for a total of $120).
Your participation is completely voluntary. There is no fee to participate in this study. If you would like to participate in this study, click here. If you have questions, concerns, or would like any additional information, please email TPRI@usc.edu.
