COP26 Panel: How USC can Support International Climate Goals

DivestSC and ESA invite you to attend a panel with USC’s administration about COP26 and sustainability goals.

DivestSC is a student-led organization on campus that pushed the USC administration to liquidate fossil fuels funds in the endowment.

This month we are organizing a panel to talk with USC’s Chief Sustainability Officer Mick Dalrymple, VP of Civic Engagement & Economic Partnerships Effie Turnbull-Sanders, Chair of the Presidential Working Group on Sustainability Dan Mazmanian,  and Marshall Professor of Business Policy and Environmental Studies Paul Adler about the future of USC’s sustainability policies and projects. In light of COP26 (UN Climate Change Conference), we hope to provide those who are interested in the environmental movement with a greater understanding of how our administration views the current issues and what our school is doing to contribute to the future.

The event will be a much needed conversation between the student body and the Administration. 5 years after the Paris Climate Agreement, new goals are being discussed and USC must also reevaluate our own objectives and stewardship. Please join us on the 16th of November (Tuesday) at 10:00am-11:00am, at TCC 450 to contribute to this discussion. If you are interested in attending, please register at the link below:

USC’s commitment to divest last spring was an important step forward, but our university has a long way to go to become a leading voice in sustainability. We look forward to hearing from our panelists about how USC can contribute to achieving international climate goals.
