In a private ceremony held earlier this year,  Staff Assembly Member Patricia Alarcon took the Oath of Office Ceremony to serve on the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument Commission. The ceremony was held on Zoom due to the COVID pandemic and was attended by her family, friends, and members of the Trojan Family. The commission serves to promote, safeguard, and preserve the City’s birthplace and culturally diverse heritage through the effective management of its commercial and historical resources and events.

Patricia is a community advocate and Relationship Manager for the USC Educational Partnerships Department in the USC University Relations Division where she leads efforts to create and nurture impactful relationships that unearth opportunity internally at USC and externally with community program partners in the non-profit, private and public sectors. Her work with the USC McMorrow Neighborhood Academic Initiative (NAI) centers benefit more than 1,000 local, diverse, first-generation, historically underserved students in South Los Angeles and East Area of Los Angeles, where she provides fundraising and development support. She also serves in an elected position for the 2018-2020 USC Staff Assembly, a role that she leverages for the development of opportunity and advancement for women professionals at USC.
