Our USC Fire Safety Emergency Planning Team. They are offering for staff to become CERT members (CERT= Campus Emergency Response Training), with a summer CERT class happening at HSC.
Dates: Monday – Wednesday, July 25 – 27; Monday & Tuesday, August 1 – 2
Time: 9:00 – 3:00 pm each of those days with the exception of Tuesday, Aug. 2. Aug 2 is 9:00 – 1:00 pm
We do our best to get you out every day by 2:30 pm.
Location: Soto Building Annex Conference Room
Class Schedule:
Day 1: Earthquake & Fire Suppression – hands on skills: fire suppression
Day 2: Medical Operations – hands on skills: bandaging and splinting
Day 3: Medical Ops review & Search & Rescue – hands on skills: search & rescue, cribbing, stair chair, lifts and carries
Day 4: Disaster Psychology and ICS – hands on skills: back boarding and final review
Day 5: Final drill
As you can see each day is jammed packed with information and skills. Missing a day is not an option so please check with your supervisors that you can attend all 5 days before committing. If you need to miss a day we will have to put you in the next class.
